guante, noun
glove

The basic meaning of guante is a glove. If you are putting them on, you use the verb ponerse, which is the basic verb for putting clothes on.

Se puso los guantes de lana.
He put on his woolen gloves.

Guantes are used in a couple of common idiomatic phrases: tratar a alguien con guantes de seda to treat somebody with kid gloves.

Nos trataban con guantes de seda.
They treated us with kid gloves.

If something fits you really well, you use a similar phrase to English, with the verb sentar, to fit.

Me sienta como un guante.
It fits me like a glove.
