PROFILE
My name is Hector William Pinillos Gomez
and I have worked as an English as a Second Language teacher since 1997.
Studies
I studied and learned the language, ENGLISH, while I was
living in New York City where I went to La Guardia Community College of the City of
New York to learn it.
And I also took another intensive 9 to 4 course at Regional Manpower System of
the City of New York on English as a Second Language for another twelve weeks more.
At the same time I took the training to get the
High School Equivalency Diploma from the University of the State of New York.
I also studied 5 semesters of Business
Administration at La Guardia Community College and Queens College in New York
City.
Once I came back to Bogota I obtained the First Certificate in English from University of Cambridge – Local Examination Syndicate.
In order to get a better knowledge on teaching I got the Communicative Grammar (Practices Activities), Focus on Pronunciation, and Developing Listening Skills Workshops Certificate from The British Council.
And to keep improving my skills on giving English classes to my students I went to Bilingües Centro Colombiano de Lenguas Modernas and obtained the Focusing on Innovate English Techniques Certificate.
To assure my English knowledge I took the ISPEK test where I got the CEFR level B2 iTEP level 4 Certificate from iTEP International Test of English Proficiency.
and to reassure my English knowledge I took the Berlitz Proficient test
and entrepreneurship.
I finished the High School studies at
Working Experience
I have been teaching English since June
1997 to nowadays, which gives me quite good experience on the subject. And I am
also a hard working person willing to give my students all the knowledge
necessary to obtain the best results in their learning. I would rather make
mimics, or play the clown before giving them an easy Spanish translation to the
students' questions. I am very responsible and punctual to give classes. The
wide English teaching experience as a Second Language in Basic, Intermediate,
and Advance levels and also the TOEFL preparation course has given me
experience with adults, teenagers, and children.
While working for I gave classes to executives from Proexport - Colombia, Level Up, and Magnum Logistics Bogota - Zona Franca.
Working at Gimnasio Moderno San Francisco El Tintal I gave classes to the 8º, 9º, 10º and 11º students.
Working forCIES Tintal Corporación Iberoamericana de Estudios I taught English in all the levels to all students that need the subject as a requirement in their career.
At IFL Institute of Foreign Languages I taught the language in all the levels to their students.
I also worked at British Alliance, Absolut Language, and LPT Communications where I was sent to give classes to executives in Symrise - Colombia, Encoclavos, and Coltavira.
At Fundación
Centro Nuevo Mundo in Soacha, Cundinamarca I gave conversational classes to youngsters from the area.
