Fact of the Day: anthropology

Anthropology, from Greek anthropos "human being," is the science of human beings and their relationship to various other entities in different periods of time. Anthropological studies focus on the physical character, evolutionary history, racial classification, historical and present-day geographic distribution, group relationships, and cultural history of human beings. The two main divisions of anthropology are cultural anthropology, which deals with the study of human culture in all its aspects, and physical anthropology, which is the study of human physical character, both past and present.
