Fact of the Day: Rubik's Cube

The Rubik's Cube was invented in the mid-1970s by Erno Rubik, a professor of design at the Academy of Applied Arts and Design in Budapest, Hungary. By 1980, it had become a tremendous hit and was being marketed worldwide. Sales of authorized units of the Rubik's Cube are over 100 million, while unauthorized versions top 50 million. There are 43 quintillion possible arrangements of the colored squares on the cube, only one of which is correct.
