On This Day:
Wednesday June 18, 2014

This is the 169th day of the year, with 196 days remaining in 2014.

Fact of the Day: interjections

An interjection is an expression of emotion and is regarded as one of the parts of speech. It is so called because it is interjected between sentences, clauses, or words, mostly without grammatical connection. Examples are words such as cheers, darn, hey, oh, ouch, wow, and yo. Abrupt remarks, especially when uttered as an aside or interruption, are also considered interjections.
