capaz, adjective
capable, able

Capaz works very much like English capable. It can refer to someone who is good at what they do:

Es una persona muy capaz.
She's a very capable or able person.

It is also used in the structure capaz de hacer algo, to be capable of doing something:

Es un esfuerzo que yo no sería capaz de hacer.
It's an effort I wouldn't be capable of making.

You sometimes use capaz in this structure to suggest that you can't trust or rely on someone:

Es capaz de decir cualquier despropósito.
He's capable of saying the most inappropriate things, or He can come out with the most inappropriate things.

There is a phrase using capaz which is very different from English. In Latin America, capaz que is used with a verb to convey the idea of possibility:

Capaz que llueva.
It might rain.
Capaz que se perdió.
He might have got lost.
