Yesterday's Word - Previous Words - Help

lo, adjective
the important etc thing

If you want to say 'the important thing is ...', 'the good thing is ...' and so forth, you can use lo followed by a masculine singular adjective. Technically, you are using lo as a 'neuter' article and creating a sort of abstract noun - that is a noun referring to a concept, not to a material object.

Lo importante es que lo hayas* intentado.
The important thing is that you tried.
Eso es lo increíble de todo el asunto.
That's the incredible thing about this whole affair.
Lo bueno es que ya tienes alguien en quien confiar.
The good thing is that you've now got someone you can trust.
