arrodillarse, verb
to kneel, to kneel down

Derived from rodilla, knee, is the verb arrodillarse, to kneel. Notice that it has two letter -rs and two -ls.

Se arrodillaron frente a ella.
They kneeled down in front of her.
Ana se arrodilló frente a la cama.
Ana knelt down in front of the bed.

You often use the participle arrodillado to talk about being in a kneeling position.

Quedó arrodillado en el suelo.
He was kneeling on the ground.
