blind

Ciego is used similarly to English blind.

Es ciego de nacimiento.
He was born blind.

Apart from the literal meaning, it has a metaphorical one which is very similar to English:

una ciega confianza en el futuro
a blind confidence in the future
obediencia ciega y disciplina incondicional
blind obedience and unquestioning discipline
