to weigh

Pesar is the word you use when physically weighing something ? or someone ? on scales (la balanza).

El frutero pesó las uvas.
The grocer weighed the grapes.
Creo que he engordado, tengo que pesarme.
I think I’ve put on some weight, I need to weigh myself.

Pesar is also a useful word, like medir, for describing people physically:

¿Cuánto pesas?
How much do you weigh?
Peso 90 kilos.
I weigh 200 pounds.
