Yesterday's Word - Previous Words - Help

cielo, noun:

In a previous Spanish Word of the Day, we came across el cielo meaning sky and heaven.

No había ni una nube en el cielo.
There wasn’t a cloud in the sky.

There is a phrase with cielo which is the exact equivalent of English:

estar en el séptimo cielo
to be in seventh heaven

Another idiom uses a similar image to English. If something is caído del cielo ? word for word ‘fallen from the sky’ ? it’s a godsend.

El dinero les ha caído del cielo.
The money was a godsend.

This phrase is also used with llovido instead of caído.

Llegó como llovida del cielo.
Her arrival was a godsend.
