We’ve already encountered quemar meaning to burn. The noun derived from it is una quemadura, a burn. It can refer to any kind of burn that you get accidentally:

Tras la explosión sufrió quemaduras de segundo grado en las manos.
As a result of the explosion he suffered second-degree burns on his hands.

Quemaduras de sol and quemaduras solares refer to sunburn:

Las quemaduras solares han dejado de dolerme.
Sunburn doesn’t hurt me any more.
