From pertenecer derive the adjective perteneciente, belonging: los países pertenecientes a la OTAN countries belonging to NATO and the noun las pertenencias, belongings, as in this headline: Última sobreviviente del Titanic vende sus pertenencias para pagar gastos médicos.
