Exigió hablar con el encargado. He demanded to speak to the manager. In the previous example the object was an infinitive, but you can also use exigir with a noun: Exijo respeto. I demand respect. ¡Te exijo una explicación! I demand an explanation. If you demand that somebody else do something, you use exigir que and the subjunctive: Por ello exigen que el Banco de España baje* el precio del dinero.
