Yesterday's Word - Previous Words - Help

claro, adjective
clear

In an earlier Spanish Word of the Day we saw that a basic meaning of claro is clear.

Es un claro ejemplo de la globalización.
It’s a clear example of globalization.

Claro is used in many phrases with verbs which it’s useful to get to know.

dejar algo claro
to make something clear
Ha dejado bien claro que no quiere vernos más.
He has made it quite clear he doesn’t want to see us again.

Another phrase is dejar las cosas claras to get things clear, to get things straight.

Por si alguien tenía dudas, dos cosas quiso dejar claras el presidente.
In case anybody was in any doubt, the president wanted to get two things straight.
