Something you need to be very aware of when driving is el semáforo, traffic lights. In English it’s plural, while Spanish semáforo is singular.

Al primer semáforo gira a la derecha.
Turn right at the first set of traffic lights.

If the lights are red, they are en rojo, and if they are green they are en verde. To jump a traffic light is saltarse un semáforo en rojo.

El carro se saltó al meno un semáforo en rojo antes de llegar al puente.
The automobile jumped at least one set of traffic lights before reaching the bridge.
