seco, adjective
dry; dried

Quite often Spanish words cover two English meanings. Seco is one of them, as it translates dry and dried.

El suelo ya está seco.
The floor’s dry now.
Tiene una tos seca.
He’s got a dry cough.

If you like drinking wine, seco is a word you’ll often come across:

Prefiero el vino seco.
I prefer dry wine.

Seco also refers to things which have been dried:

un cuadro de flores secas
a painting of dried flowers
frutos secos
nuts and dried fruits
