Yesterday's Word - Previous Words - Help

oportuno, adjective
timely; right; better

You could translate oportuno as opportune, but that would make the English sound much more formal than the Spanish, so you might want to use other words instead. Oportuno often goes together with momento:

Decidió el momento más oportuno para la intervención cirúrgica.
He decided on the best or most suitable time for surgery.
Su nombre apareció en el momento oportuno.
Her name turned up at the right time.
Su llamada no pudo ser más oportuno.
His call couldn’t have come at a better time or couldn’t have been better timed.
