Cabo is often used in set expressions that you are likely to encounter. Today we're looking at three more.
The first is al fin y al cabo, at the end of the day, when all's said and done

Al fin y al cabo, lo que falta en la justicia está bien claro.
At the end of the day, what's missing in the judicial system is clear.

Second, when you realise there's a link between two facts or events, or when you put two and two together, you use the phrase atar cabos

Até cabos y llegué a la conclusión que mi amigo estaba implicado en el caso.
I put two and two together and came to the conclusion that my friend was involved in the case.

Third, Llevar a cabo is very often used to mean to carry something out

La operación se llevó a cabo en la tarde de ayer.
The operation was carried out yesterday afternoon.
