rebelde, adjective, noun
rebellious; rebel

Rebelde is very similar to English rebel, but don’t forget the -de at the end. You can use it as an adjective, to describe someone, either literally, in the political sense:

las fuerzas rebeldes
the rebel forces

or to describe someone who doesn’t obey rules, is rebellious:

un adolescente rebelde
a rebellious teenager

When it’s a noun, you translate it as rebel:

bajo el control de los rebeldes
under the control of the rebels
