rápido, adjective, adverb
fast, quick; quickly

Rápido is the basic word to describe someone or something which is fast or quick:

un carro muy rápido
a very fast car
comida rápida
fast food

Apart from using rápido to describe things and people ? as an adjective ? you can also use it to describe actions, in other words, as an adverb:

Comí muy rápido.
I ate very quickly.

You also use on its own if you need someone to hurry up or get a move on:

¡Rápido!, ¡rápido!, hay que salir de aquí.
Hurry up, hurry up, we’ve got to get out of here.
