¿por qué?, adverb
Why?

Of course you already know ¿Por qué? It’s the basic way of asking why:

¿Por qué no te gusta?
Why don’t you like it?

Remember that you write ¿Por qué? as two words, and that there’s an accent on the qué.
Apart from using ¿Por qué? to ask real questions, you use it to make suggestions, just as in English:

¿Por qué no les llamas ahora?
Why don’t you call them now?

You can also use ¿Por qué? with a verb in the infinitive:

¿Lo que hiciste con ellos, por qué no hacerlo con él?
Why not do with him what you did with them?
