viejo, adjective
old

Like old, the adjective viejo can be used to describe things or people.

Estos zapatos ya están muy viejos.
These shoes are very old now.
hacerse viejo
to get old

Young people often use the expression mis viejos as an informal way of saying my folks.
If you would like to use a more diplomatic word to describe an old person, you could use anciano. Despite appearances, it doesn't mean ancient, but elderly.
