Yesterday's Word - Previous Words - Help

profesor, noun
teacher

Despite appearances, profesor doesn't normally mean a university professor unless specified (e.g. un profesor universitario a university professor).
As with all Spanish words for jobs and professions, there's no indefinite article before the word profesor/profesora to correspond with the English one.

Amelia es profesora de inglés.
Amelia is an English teacher.

However if there's an adjective describing the noun, then there is an indefinite article before it.

Es una buena profesora.
She's a good teacher.
