rincón, noun
corner

The word rincón translates as corner in English, but so does esquina. So what's the difference? Un rincón is a corner in a room, whereas una esquina is a street corner. Notice how in and on translate into Spanish.

en un rincón de la habitación
in a corner of the room
la tienda de la esquina
the store on the corner
