On This Day:
Sunday November 30, 2014

This is the 334th day of the year, with 31 days remaining in 2014.

Fact of the Day: three meals

Our eating three meals a day evolved somewhat naturally as most of us feel hungry about 4-5 hours after we have last eaten. The British used to eat five meals a day, New Zealanders about seven, and in the Middle Ages, the main meal began about 11 am and lasted several hours. During the 15th and 16th centuries, the main meal began a long, gradual shift to evening.
