El peine a comb belongs to a group which includes two other useful words. Notice the verb you use: pasar un peine por el pelo, to give your hair a comb.

Paso rápidamente un peine por el pelo.
He gave his hair a quick comb.

The verb related to el peine is peinarse, to comb your hair.

Antes yo me peinaba con la clásica raya en medio.
I used to comb my hair with the classic center parting.

And the related noun is el peinado, referring not just to the way you comb your hair, but to your hairstyle or hairdo.

Ha cambiado su peinado.
She’s changed her hairstyle.
