superior, adjective
upper; top; superior

Unlike English, Spanish superior has two meanings. One is to do with vertical location: upper.

el labio superior
the upper lip
la parte superior del edificio
the upper part of the building

Superior can also refer to something at the top.

Vive en el piso superior.
She lives on the top floor.

And of course, it can refer to things which are superior to others:

Este tejido es superior al otro.
This fabric is superior to the other one.
