nick, noun
username

Spanish has borrowed many words from English, just as English has borrowed many from Spanish. Sometimes Spanish changes the spelling of the English to reflect how Spanish-speakers pronounce words:

un cóctel
a cocktail
un eslogan
a slogan

Sometimes Spanish takes elements of English and makes them into words that don’t exist in English. For example, el footing is jogging. Similarly, el nick is a shortened version of nickname, and refers to your nickname, or user ID on internet sites.

Los usuarios se conocen y se interpelan mediante el nick.
Users know each other and communicate using their nicknames.
