Yesterday's Word - Previous Words - Help

repasar, verb
to check; to revise

Repasar is another of those economical Spanish words which wrap up two English concepts in one. On the one hand it refers to checking or going over something, such as accounts or a bill.

Repase la factura antes de firmarla.
Check the invoice before signing it.
Nadie le ha escuchado repasar solo, en voz alta, el discurso.
Nobody heard him going over the speech alone, and out loud.

On the other hand it means to review or (British) to revise what you’ve studied.

Continúa repasando los apuntes hasta el último segundo.
He goes on reviewing his notes right up to the last minute.
