On This Day:
Saturday March 7, 2015

This is the 66th day of the year, with 299 days remaining in 2015.

Fact of the Day: sheep wool

Sheep's' wool does not shrink when they are exposed to precipitation. Wool is often stretched during yarn or fabric manufacture and may undergo relaxation shrinkage in washing, with fibers resuming their normal shape. Felting shrinkage occurs when wet fibers, subjected to mechanical action, become matted into packed masses. Sheep don't experience this because the wool has not been stretched -- and wool grease contains lanolin.
