olimpiadas, plural noun
the Olympics, the Olympic Games

Instead of using a phrase as we do in English, Spanish has a single word for the Olympic Games: las olimpiadas.

Estas van a ser las mejores olimpíadas de la historia.
These are going to be the best Olympic Games in history.

If you want to describe something that happened at or in the Olympics, notice how you use en

Sacamos decenas de medallas de oro, plata, y bronce en las últimas olimpiadas.
We won dozens of gold, silver, and bronze medals at the last Olympics.

Olimpiadas is also sometimes spelled with an accent on the second letter ‘i’:

las olimpíadas de invierno
the winter Olympics
