Yesterday's Word - Previous Words - Help

noticia, noun
news

Noticias in the plural is also the word you use to talk about hearing from somebody, such as a friend or family member.

No tengo noticias de Juan.
I haven’t heard from Juan.
No volvió a verla ni a tener noticias de ella.
He never saw or heard from her again.

In the singular, and still with the verb tener, you use noticia to talk about not having heard of something:

¿Alguien tiene noticia de alguna guerra limpia?
Has anybody heard of a clean war?
Yo no tenía noticia de esa mejor disposición.
I knew nothing about this better arrangement.
