right now; a moment ago
In many parts of Latin America you are very likely to hear the diminutive ahorita formed by adding -ita to ahora. It has two main meanings:
Ahorita no puedo ir
I can’t go right now
Ahorita mismo le traigo sus tamales
I’ll bring you your tamales right away
Apart from meaning right now, it can also mean a moment ago:
Ahorita salió
She went out a moment ago
Sólo ahorita lo supe
I only found out a moment ago
In parts of Central America, Mexico and Venezuela you will also come across the variant ahoritica.
