conocer, verb
to know

The Spanish word conocer means to know, but only when you’re talking about knowing people and places.

La conozco.
I know her.
Conozco bien París.
I know Paris well.
llegar a conocer a alguien
to get to know somebody

Don’t forget to use the word a before the names of people you know:

Conozco muy bien a Luisa.
I know Luisa very well.
Conozco a un buen fontanero (plomero in most of Latin America)
I know a good plumber.

By the way, to say that you know something, you use the Spanish saber.

No lo sé.
I don’t know.
