In the United States, presidential elections are held every four years. They are always held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. The President and the Vice - President of the United States are elected for four years. Only natural born citizens of the United States are allowed to be president. Presidents are required to be at least thirty - five years old.
There are two major political parties, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party, in the United States. The vice - presidential candidates are often selected by the presidential candidates. Both the presidential and the vice - presidential candidates are nomanated by their political parties at a national convention. The election results are published in every newspaper.

CAN and BE ABLE TO uses
Joe is a senior in an American high school. He is the best athlete in his class. He can play football better than any of his classmates, and he can swim faster than anybody in the school. The only sport he can't play well is basketball. He is not able to devote much time to his studies, but he can always manage to get good grades. He is going to college next year. He cannot go to the college of his first choice, because he is not able to get a scholarship, but he can probably transfer there in his junior year. Next year he will be able to study much more, because he in not goint to participate in sports.
